Why We Made Our Entire Baby Collection Organic

| 0 min read

Previously, our baby collection was very limited.

We offered a couple of styles, and it wasn’t the initial focus of our children’s clothing line. When we recently decided to expand our baby offering, we knew – if we were going to make BABY clothing, we had to make it all ORGANIC.

Why? Our skin is our largest organ and it's also the most absorptive –

For babies, their skin is even more permeable. While baby skin has three layers (like adults), each of the layers is far thinner for babies. So, when something comes in contact with baby skin, it can be more easily absorbed. This means their skin can also be more prone to irritation.

We also like to use organic yarn for other reasons such as: reducing the amount of chemicals in production for the wearer and the farmers, and supporting organic agriculture. In general, we’re trying to reduce the toxicity in children’s clothing. If you’d like to learn more, you can read this article by Dr. Philip J. Landrigan and Mary M. Landrigan in   Environmental Health News.

All of the styles are made from 100% Global Organic Textile Standard certified yarn, and they are locally knit and dyed with low-impact dyes in Los Angeles, CA. The organic cotton baby rib used in this collection allows for airflow to the body, has a nice weight, a soft feel, and a good amount of stretch.

Meet the new Organic Baby Collection –

Organic Short Sleeve Onesie – The Organic Cotton Baby Rib Short Sleeve Snap Onesie is our favorite everyday baby style. Onesies are a necessity for babies, as they help regulate body temperature and provide that essential base layer. These pair perfectly with our Baby Leggings or Baby Footed Pants.

Organic Footed Baby Pants – Our 100% Organic Cotton Footed Baby Pants are soft and stretchy with an enclosed elastic waistband and relaxed fit. These are an easy option to get dressed, as there’s no need for socks! These baby pants are designed for maximum comfort and coziness, and are easy to take on and off.

Organic Short Sleeve Lap Tee – The Super-Soft Organic Cotton Baby Rib Short Sleeve Lap Tee features an envelope neckline, making it easy to dress even the most fidgety baby. Pairs well with a Short or Long Sleeve Onesie underneath or with just a Diaper Cover for those warmer days.

Long Sleeve Snap Onesie – The Super-Soft Organic Cotton Baby Rib Long Sleeve Snap Onesie is one of those styles your baby will live in. It features lead-free snaps for easy diaper access, and has an envelope neckline that allows it to comfortably slide over your baby's head.

Reimagine what shopping can look like when it’s focused on quality rather than quantity.

Oftentimes, folks avoid investing in organic options, because these styles come with a higher price point. Instead of focusing on the slightly higher cost, we like to reimagine what shopping can look like when it’s focused on quality rather than quantity.

When it comes to baby clothes, less is more – little ones grow into new sizes so quickly and also, the laundry is always on repeat with babies. Buy less, buy better, and invest in quality organic styles that you can pass down to the next wave of babies.
