    Not as long as anticipated

I bought a sz7 for my 6yr old. The waist fits well, the fabric is good quality, the seams feel secure, etc. However, the inseam is not as long as I had hope for with the advertising as "bike shorts". I mean, her booty isn't hanging out (like with some shorts), but I expected them to be about an inch longer than it is.

We bought two shades of plain pink and one pair of pattern. The pattern is part of the fabric - not printed on - so I believe it will hold up well.

    Great for swimming too!

I wanted to get my daughter little swim shorts/pants to go over her swimsuit, for modesty and to help keep sand out of her suit! I was looking at all the different little swimmer's shorts, but I thought something that looked like a mermaid would be cuter. These are made out of the same material as swimsuits (minus the SPF), so I thought I’d give them a try. She wore them with the regular swimsuit bottom underneath (so the inseams wouldn’t chaffe), and they worked out great! We got roughly two years of use out of these because I bought them a little big. They have held up great, no seams coming apart or anything, and I just ordered a new pair in a bigger size in the new pink color (she’s going to be thrilled!) I absolutely recommend these!

Winner Of The Perfect Bike Short Search!

My daughter is ULTRA picky and sensory sensitive about certain articles of clothing. The bike shorts she needs to wear under her school uniform being one of those articles of clothing. So this year we could order uniforms from Lands End but I didn't order enough bike shorts (which she did like!) and of course they sold out so here I am on Amazon looking for bike shorts and praying she'll like them so we can all get dressed in peace in the morning versus the meltdown that will ensue with "hated" bike shorts. City Threads is coming through for us! We just had success with their undies this past week and now we have bike short success as well - THANK YOU CITY THREADS!! My daughter is on the thinner side, she's 9 and weighs 53 lbs. She can still wear a size 8 in Gymboree clothing but I ordered a size 10 thinking slightly bigger might be better and although they're a little baggy on her - they're not hanging off her by any means - they're just a little looser in the leg and seat and she likes them that way. The shorts are super comfortable, they're soft lightweight cotton, they hit above the knee and I like that they have a great color selection to choose from so she can mix and match with her various uniforms. I think that helps her feel like she has some control over her wardrobe even if she is having to wear a uniform everyday. From the photos you can see that there is a tag although for my sensory child this tag doesn't seem to be an issue - it may be for other children. I bought the white, light pink and navy blue and although the material is lightweight you can't see through the white - although you might see white undies under them - I'm not sure as we haven't tried this combo yet. I wouldn't worry about it with other colors though. I ordered several bike shorts from other companies in our search for the perfect bike short and we only had success with these. I highly recommend - this is where we'll be coming in the future for our school uniform bike shorts and any other bike short needs!
